Our Story, Mission, and Values
Founded to meet the unique mental health needs of LGBTQ+ and Deaf communities, Kindled Light Therapy is dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment where every client feels seen, heard, and supported. Our inclusive care also includes working with individuals who have chronic illnesses and/or disabilities. Our mission is to empower individuals through culturally competent, trauma-informed approaches that foster healing and resilience. We value respect, inclusivity, and empathy at the core of every therapeutic relationship.


Meet Our Passionate Team
Karen Pendleton is a licensed therapist with deep cultural competence in the LGBTQ+ and Deaf community. Trauma-informed care is at the center of her practice. She is certified in EMDR, Brainspotting, TF-CBT, and is training in MEMI.
Karen graduated from Utah Valley University with a BA in Psychology with a minor in Deaf Studies. She went on to receive her MA degree in Social Work (also from UVU) and became a licensed mental health therapist.
Outside of work, Karen's enjoys woodworking, gardening, and being out in nature. She especially loves spending time and going on adventures with her wife and two beautiful children.
